North Cyprus salary guide 2026: what sets pay, benefits and negotiating
· KıbrısCV
Pay in North Cyprus varies a lot by sector, role, experience, languages and season. This guide covers what to look at when you weigh a job offer: the legal minimum, what pushes pay up, the value of benefits and how to negotiate.
The legal floor: minimum wage
For full-time work the legal floor is the minimum wage: from the decision of 16 July 2026, net 61,677 TL and gross 70,893 TL per month, or 408.99 TL gross per hour. See our minimum wage guide for details.
Part-time pay is based on the hourly minimum wage multiplied by the hours you work, minus social insurance and provident fund contributions.
What drives pay?
- Sector: banking, IT, healthcare and management usually pay well above the minimum wage; in tourism and food & beverage, base pay is often close to the minimum and topped up with tips, service charge and accommodation.
- Languages: English (and Russian or German in hotels, casinos and real estate) raises pay in customer-facing roles.
- Experience and certificates: trade certificates, professional qualifications and driving licence class strengthen your position.
- Location: tourism is concentrated in Kyrenia and Iskele, head offices and the public sector in Nicosia.
- Season: seasonal hotel jobs may include overtime and an end-of-season bonus.
