Social insurance and the provident fund in North Cyprus: what is deducted from your pay?
· KıbrısCV
Everyone employed under a contract in the TRNC is covered by social insurance and the provident fund. Most of the difference between your gross and net pay comes from these two deductions.
Two systems
- Social insurance / social security covers sickness, maternity, work accidents, disability, old age (pension) and death.
- Provident fund is a compulsory savings account with contributions from you and your employer plus annual interest, paid out as a lump sum in cases set by law.
