Public sector jobs in North Cyprus: vacancies, exams and how to apply
· KıbrısCV
Vacancies in the North Cyprus public sector are announced as "münhal" and most are filled through the Public Service Commission (Kamu Hizmeti Komisyonu, KHK) with an exam. Note that the general conditions require TRNC citizenship.
Where vacancies are published
The Public Service Commission publishes first-appointment vacancies as circulars; announcements, exam dates and results are posted on khk.gov.ct.tr. Some bodies, such as municipalities and state enterprises, recruit through their own announcements, which you can follow on their websites, social media and in the Official Gazette.
Who can apply
- TRNC citizens aged 17 or over
- The education required for the post
- No bar on public rights or listed convictions
- Military service completed or deferred (men)
- A health board report confirming fitness for the job
Most posts also require passing the KHK proficiency exam (Alt, Orta or Üst Düzey, depending on education and post level). In 2025 the exam had 50 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes, with a pass mark of 60/100.
How to apply
- Read the vacancy or exam circular on the KHK website.
- Apply online at basvuru.khk.gov.ct.tr or book an online appointment and apply in person; walk-in applications without an appointment are not accepted.
- Pay the exam fee and take the written exam; top candidates are invited to an interview.
