How to find a job in North Cyprus: where to look and what to watch for
· KıbrısCV
The job market in North Cyprus is small but active: tourism, education, construction and services hire all year. Using the right channels, preparing your application and avoiding fake ads will shorten your search. Here is what to do, step by step.
Is it easy to find a job in North Cyprus?
It depends on the sector. Demand is high in hotels, restaurants, casinos, retail, cleaning and construction, especially before the summer season (March–May). Banking, the public sector and corporate office jobs are more competitive. Speaking English is an advantage in almost every sector.
Where to find jobs
- Job boards: on KıbrısCV you can search by city, sector and job type (part-time, seasonal, live-in) and apply in one click.
- Company websites and social media: large hotels, hospitals and schools also post vacancies on their own pages.
- University career centres: internships and part-time jobs for students and graduates.
- Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram groups: fast, but nobody checks the ads; see the warnings below.
Step by step
- Decide what you want: sector, city, full-time or part-time, accommodation needed or not.
- Prepare a short, up-to-date CV (CV guide).
- Complete your KıbrısCV profile so matching jobs are shown first.
- Add a short note or cover letter to each application.
- Prepare for interviews (interview guide) and ask for the offer in writing.
Foreigners: work permit
If you are not a TRNC citizen you need a work permit, applied for through your employer. See our work permit guide and browse jobs for foreigners.
Watch out for fake job ads
- Never pay to apply: real employers do not charge application, training or "visa" fees.
- Do not send a photo of your ID or passport before the employer is verified.
- Be wary of ads with salaries far above the market and vague duties.
- Meet at the workplace or a known location and check the company name and address.
- Every job on KıbrısCV is reviewed before it goes live; use "Report this job" on any ad that looks suspicious.
